While we were sad to have to take a break from DG for the summer, we knew that no matter far apart we were, we manage to stay close to our sisters and have a good time! This summer, DG's were all over the world. Some were studying abroad in places like Paris and London, while others were visiting home. No matter the distance, DG's always manage to see each other.

DG's are involved in over 50 student groups on campus, making us the most involved sorority on Greek Row. In the 2011-2012 ASUU elections, DG's own Neela Pack was voted University of Utah's Student Body President, making her the second female president in university history.

Sailor Days

Every school semester, DG has a week-long philanthropy. Anchor Splash is in the fall and Sailor Days is in the spring. DG's always have the most successful philanthropy weeks where they raise money for Service for Sight, a non-profit organization for the visually impaired. We kicked Sailor Days off this year with our famous Casino Night and ended our week with Delta Gamma's in Pajamas, where we had endless cereal and board games.

DG is always known for having the best formals! This year we had our Spring Formal at Noah's in Sandy. We all took buses out there and had a great time dancing the night away!

This year we were lucky to be teamed up with the wonderful guys of Kappa Sigma. The week consisted of a Glee themed lip sync, a game of Assassin, a trip to the zoo with the Neighborhood House and Greek Olympics. It was such a good time to get to let loose and have some fun with all the other houses on Greek row and it paid off! We won Greek Week for the third year in a row! Thank you Kappa Sigma for making this week the best!

Last Friday, the DGs had their Spring Date Night at Classic Skating. The theme was Roller Disco and it was definitely a blast from the past! With pizza, arcade games, crazy outfits and rollerskating with the best girls, there's no question why DG Date Night is the most popular event on Greek Row.

Last Saturday, the Delta Gammas attended the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center's Saturday Service Project on Education & Advocacy. One of our member's is a Community Service Program Director in the Bennion Center and led a wonderful group of DGs to the Horizonte School to help tutor children, quilt blankets, organize clothes for the homeless shelter, and much more. They were joined by a few members of the Sigma Chi and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternities.

On the last Saturday of Winter Break a large group of DGs and Sigs got together and went bowling at Fat Cats! There were about 50 of us there and we all had a blast bowling in the weirdest ways! This will definitely have to become a tradition for us!

Anchor Splash

Anchor Splash this year was a big success! Elle put together a ton of great events and we raised lots of money while having a great time! We had our Anchor Slam basketball tournament at the beginning of the week and later had our FlapJack Dinner! Both turned out to be big hits! Way to go Elle!

Christmas Dance Party

Our Fall Formal this year was themed "Golden Anchor Formal." Groups went to a variety of restaurants for dinner and the dance portion was at Pierpont. Everyone looked absolutely beautiful and had such an amazing time! We can't wait for the next one!

The pledge class of Fall 2010 decided to go have their own "retreat" up in Park City! They went to Polly's cabin and had a great night of bonding -- making cookies, swimming in the hot springs, and getting to know each other! Looks like they had a great time!

Blind Bowling!

Last month the DGs took kids from the local blind school bowling at the Union and it was a blast! Our main philanthropy is Service for Sight where we seek to prevent blindness and give aid to the local blind community. This was a great opportunity for us to interact with blind kids our age.

To level the playing field, the DGs were all blindfolded.

Needless to say the blind kids beat us by a lot.

All in all it was a great activity and so much fun for everyone involved!

Delta Gamma had a bittersweet ending to the 2009-2010 school year.

We had our last meeting dedicated to our SENIORS. We will miss you Katie, Sloane, Brecken and Missy!

DGs are excited for summer. We will all be separated for a few months while some study abroad, travel and spend their summers home away from Utah. Some girls are also in summer school studying hard! BUT we cannot even count down the days to get back into school and kick off Fall RECRUITMENT!

For the second consecutive year, Delta Gamma & Sigma Chi teamed up and won Greek Week!

The week began with the lip sync competition. We took first place and got a jump start on points for the week!

The week continued with some fun activities like a capture the flag throughout campus, Greek Row game day and the annual Zoo Trip for the Neighborhood House.

Anchor Splash week was a huge success! Monday was the fundraiser at Spoon Me yogurt shop. We had a huge turnout and the line was out the door! Wednesday was the swim races! It was a lot of fun, with teams from different houses, and even U of U's men's swim team members! Friday was the Anchor Slam tournament, where dozens of boys competed to win the grand prize! All in all, the week was a lot of fun and we raised a lot of money for our philanthropy!

Casino Night

On Monday, October 6 we had a casino night after meeting. We needed to raise money for a panhellenic scholarship, so we had everyone over for some black jack and texas hold em! There was a HUGE turnout! Players paid a $5 donation for 10 chips, and could buy more chips if they wanted to. The six people with the most chips got prizes which included things like Jazz tickets, restaurant gift cards, and a date with a DG. Everyone looked so cute in their cocktail dresses. All in all, the Casino Night was a huge success! It was a lot of fun both for the Delta Gammas and the people who came to play. We will definitley do this again next year!

Saturday we had our date night, DG's at the Drive-In and it was a blast! Everyone met at the deeg for a pizza dinner before heading to the movies. Despite the rain, the Drive-In was a success! After the movie a big group went to play rock band, pool, and just hang out!

We took first place in songfest! Our theme was the Sound of Music, and we kicked some serious Chi-O butt! All the girls did such a great job and we had the cutest costumes out of anyone! Way to go!

Rush week went so well, we got the cutest new pledges! For bid day we went to Abby Ivory's house where we took pictures, played games, ate dinner, and performed the traditional bid day skits!
